Molly Hopper, Ph.D.
Research Scientist, Mass Spectrometry Core
Biography
Dr. Molly Hopper earned her M.S. and Ph.D. in chemistry from University of Michigan after graduating with a B.S. from Aquinas College. Her doctoral work focused on the analysis of amyloid beta oligomers using ion mobility mass spectrometry. During her postdoctoral work at Georgia Tech, she transitioned her focus to metabolomics and methods of predicting collision cross sections for comparison to experimental ion mobility metabolomics data. She subsequently worked as an assistant professor at a regional undergraduate university in Kentucky teaching advanced analytical chemistry courses and establishing an undergraduate research program. She values diversity, and promotes equity in all areas, but especially STEM. Molly joined VAI’s Mass Spectrometry Core in 2022.
